I'm on a bus with WiFi! This is like magic! I never want to get off!

1 January 2008

Hey dudes, I’m on a different kind of fancy bus to New York that has free internet, which is so delightful and yay. But unfortunately I wasted a long time on the Best of Craigslist and the bus is almost at the end, so I’m gonna have to finish up tomorrow. Lame! Here are some pictures to look at until then, starting with a creepily close picture of Duncan! Yay!

Okay, back! I’m at a talk that only half pertains to me so I don’t feel bad about doing personal internet things at work during the parts that don’t relate to me. Neat!

This is m’boyfriend! Looking so cute! At a restaurant in Venice.

A canal and some boats! And some lights and stuff.

A weird one of the main bridge across the main canal. I just noticed that the blobby stone things are uneven heights and it’s freaking me out.

Piazza San Marco! Yup, it’s just a bunch of lines is all.

Some glass. We learned that Venice has a lot of windows like this because they couldn’t make glass that was strong enough to support itself in one huge plane so they had to break it up into little circles. Also we learned where ghettos came from! The word comes from “getto,” which is pronounced like “jet-o” and means “metal foundry” because the Venetian Jews were forced to live where the metal foundry used to be located. The more you know!

A spiky pigeon! They were all wallowing in puddles, being cute little diseasebags.

Okay, talk’s over! More with the pictures later.
